Running Veskr by Droemar Running Veskr by Droemar
The run cycle for my veskr/Cerastes graphic. I think it turned out the best of the three, even though the glyphs are lighter. I've been doing this like, literally all day, so I think I need to stop. I'll be getting a good grade, I think ...

Wow... Impressive. May I use this as a end-boss for a mobile game I'm currently developing? I'm an indie developer and the game will be free to download.

No. Not unless you pay me. I got out of the video game industry as a professional artist for just this reason. Nothing is free, and good art definitely shouldn't be free. Your game shouldn't be free, either. Someone's making money in the industry, but I have a feeling it's people who already have money. Look into what Candy Crush is trying to do to intellectual property laws, or how the SE artists on Life of Pi lost their jobs and were protesting outside the Oscars while the film won and Rhythm and Hues was bankrupt.
If you're serious, send me a note so you can send me $100 through Paypal. Otherwise, money talks and bullshit walks. Sorry (although I shouldn't have to apologize for wanting money for my work.)

May I humbly ask how you made this running beastie and what software you used to animate it?

Humbly? After the Hound of the Baskervilles you're humble?
I found a pixel "base" online of a hellhound monster from one of the old D&D games on Nintendo, and that gave me my body. Then I sketched the frames and shrank them down to act like skeletons. I changed up the hellhound base, made it black, added horns and the mane, cut off the tail, and drew the glyphs on it to make it a veskr. Then I just kind of moved pixels into position based on the skeleton sketches, and made sure it still looked like the original frame. Mostly it was a lot of copying and pasting and cleaning up with the square eraser tool.
I used Adobe ImageReady to animate it; it comes with just about any Photoshop package. But at school I also fiddled around with Microsoft's .gif animator, which we could download for free. It basically does the same thing.

Thankyou for that. That gives me a clue as to how to make such other animated beasties of my own! :w00t:
