The Bronze Key Illustrations are back with a vengeance. I decided I'm going to do 12 more, of actual illustrations, as opposed to the characters just standing there. This scene depicts Accipta when she finds herself in the heart of a storm. That stupid Hillary Duff song actually inspired the scene, and it ended up being very emotional in the literary sense. Inspiration comes from the weirdest places.

I think I made things too dark in this one. It's been a year since I looked at the manuscript, and the illustrations, and both are looking a tad amateur. The detail of this pic puts some of the oldies, like Menugtf, to shame. I feel like I challenged myself with the rain, perhaps too much, because I did not get the effect I was going for. (So many raindrops ...) Still, the detail of the wings and her loincloth I like. It will be nice to revamp my manuscript while I add some cool action scenes to the illustrations.


EDIT: Holy buh!? A DD!? This thing is so frickin' OLD. Wow. I'm squealing with delight. Thanks for all your comments and faves. This piece always seemed over-detailed to me; it's so easy to lose everything in the picture. So wow. Really. Thanks DA, and thanks to Coffinberry and Cooley!
