Fire, guard me Ixrohar! Wrath and brawn to your warriors!
- From The Prayer of the Wheel
I'm slowly working through these guys. Aqin is yet to even have pencils, and Kiij may be in dire need of a revamp. We'll see. In the meantime I'm happy with this guy and Komo. Red is damn hard to shade with. Any other color is easy, but you really can't do much with red. I had to color in yellows and oranges to avoid too much oversaturation.
While Komo's design was an old favorite, Inxrohar's was ... laughable. My mom actually framed an old Ixrohar piece way back from ... jeez, it must have been before 2000, before I even knew how to use Photoshop properly. I nearly dropped it in shock. Bull, crocodile and bear just don't mesh, so I pulled out some dinosaur knowledge and gave him some Sauropelta influence. Works better, I think. Or perhaps my drafting skills have just gotten better to the point that things look slightly less stuck together.
I'm actually kind of intimidated. I really, -really- don't want to get on this guy's bad side. Things that I don't even want to ponder would probably happen.
It's not often I feel this way! So, maybe, just *perhaps*, congratulations are in order. This's the one big bitey guy that I'm not tempted to hug. Or pet. Or adopt.
Of it makes you feel any better, he's simply the essence of fire depicted in a bear/bull shape. But if it'll stop you from adopting monsters, that's good!
