+DS+: Sketch Dump 01

First sketchdump for the Daemon Soul series, showing my pursuit of a style for the series. I did do some pencil-heavy work, but it lacked pop, so I abandoned it after only a few pieces and went back to ink. The splash page piece I did a while back established the direction I wanted to go with the look, but it wasn't until I did about ten pieces with technical pen that I realized I'd kind of reached the limits that the media could allow me. I intend to pursue dip pen and brushwork inking from now on (wish me luck!) in the hopes of getting some more dynamic linework and variation.

This one does provide some first-time glimpses of the daemon's "maskshapes"; you didn't actually think they ran around town as daemons all the time, did you? Also, of the Hunters, River is the only one who has a solid design, and I do promise to remedy that.

This is aptly called a "dump" since many of the characters will be undergoing slight revamps and redesigns. I'm currently throwing out what doesn't work for the story, so I figured it would be a good time to do the same for the artwork.
