Back Alley Daemons by Droemar Back Alley Daemons by Droemar
Since I finished my novel, I really have lost all sense of direction. I don't know what to do with myself! I've spent two weekends watching TV. TV, people! It is very nice to loll around the house and just do whatever I feel like. I'm really amazed how weighty self-discipline can be. I've messed with my sewing, sculpey, and acrylic paint. Although I'm "creatively recharging", I find myself idling about creating things.
These are some sketches that I colored in Photoshop. An experiment; I'm wanting to move away from my heavy dependancy on lines and work on shading (huzzah chiaroscuro!) I had fun with this, and took my time. These are Metuo and Glaeba from my favorite series, Daemon Soul, the first book of which will be the next novel project I attack. However, I told myself I cannot write or officially world-build until winter, or thereabouts. I have 2 short stories in mind I wanna get out, and with college about to start up again, it's a good idea not to start a big project. Metuo turned out beautifully in this, color-wise, but his pose is a little odd. I wanted him to look like he'd just landed and was preparing to take off again. Oh well. It was fun.

I SO need to read this story now.
Are you published, or is the story online somewhere?
I'd love to know.

It's not published, but it will hopefully be someday. The world needs a serious revamp, but the characters will still stay the same. I have a couple of drafts, but nothing worth ... er, sunlight.

Dewwwd. is that a serval? It looks a bit like my character Eva as a serval. =P

Anyway, the whole thing is just awesome. I love the horse demon's pelt, it's so . . . well, awseome. :D

Heh, sort of. Glaeba is based off a serval (I love their ears!), but he is also based off of a seal lynx point Bengal/Manx cat I had. He inspired Glaeba's looks and character,.

It's pretty easy ... Filter > Render > Lens Flare. My flares were very low strength, too.
